Another day, another walk!! This time we waited for ages for the rain to stop, then put our waterproofs on & headed out for a fabby wet Autumn walk through the leaves!!
Oh just how excited were we when we spotted this lorry on our walk! We absolutely loved it and spent ages discussing what each part did and how it worked! You wouldn't see this lorry so close if you were just sat in a room - this is what walks are all about!!
We enjoyed a lovely early morning, sunny, but chilly walk to our bridge - we love our bridge & looking at the boats. We especially loved the purple boat with flowers!
We absolutely love seeing slugs on our walks and this one was especially lovely! We loved its colour, patterns and the way it moved along the ground - it moved really fast!
We went on a Snail Hunt last week and loved seeing all the baby and grown up snails crawling all over the pavements! They love it when its been raining!!
We love seeing broken branches and tree trunks on our walks. We love to feel and see the texture of tree bark and also imagine what each fallen branch looks like! Does it look like an animal? !
So loved this tree when we went for one of our walks! We loved talking about it and how it looked like the 2 trees were hugging each other! Then we pretended to be trees hugging each other - such fun!!
We love dancing in the dandelions; jumping over them and seeing them blow away in the wind. We especially love it when we spot a bug sitting on top of a dandelion!
Lots of fun on a recent walk trying to determine if its going to rain or not by using the clouds as a guide! Lots of discussions re black clouds, their shapes and going above the clouds on aeroplanes!!
Guess what we saw on our recent Easter walk - we saw an Easter Egg tree!!
We loved spending time learning all about how insects love to eat the dead wood from the trees and we loved seeing the little holes they make when eating it!
Lots of fun on a late afternoon walk in the sunshine! We loved to look at the flowers & we especially liked seeing the Toadstools in the garden!
We had a great time recently going on a Dandelion Hunt! We picked lots of dandelions, then we deadheaded them and placed them in a big nature pile. We also collected sticks and stones and talked about them!
Back to it this week after the half term break, and we had a wonderful rainy walk checking out the daffodils and worms and insects! We love our welly walks and had great fun splashing in the biggest puddles we could find!
Fabby 1.7 mile toddler welly walk to our fav bridge; so many puddles & they ended up soggy, dripping, & saturated! Two went off piste into the marshy grass & went splat! Happy smiling children though -dirty children are happy children
