This is so very true - we have seen our little ones make so much progress being with the older children. It helps their social skills and their speech and understanding - its a brilliant way to progress!
Love this - it explains exactly why walking barefoot is good for little ones' feet - we love to take our shoes off and feel the ground beneath our feet!
This is so true! We may have difficult days but its all part of learning and growing and seeing the progress all my little ones make, makes childminding so rewarding!
Check out our lovely picture using the lovely Autumn Colours - we love Autumn!
So excited, we have booked 2 visits from the Zoolab Rangers and their animals! Looking forward to seeing and touching the snakes, rats, spiders and frogs!! We have missed them since Covid started!
What do you do on your 1st day back after the Christmas holidays - yes you do lots of maths work! Lots of adding up and subtracting using bricks; my little ones did brilliantly - so well done to them! Great start to the New Year!
Yesterday we spent some time sequencing our pots into sizes & also discussing how to change rectangles into squares & vice versa & how we can tell which is a square & which is a rectangle by measuring - in this case, counting the number of bricks on each side........they all did really well!!
We have also been learning about all the creatures that live under the sea, and we have also been using a new word meaning Water and that is Aquatic - I love the fact my little ones remember it and can tell everyone else that Aquatic means water! So proud of them - building their vocabulary from a young age!
Yay for a wet walk along the canal & through the muddy wood! Just glad we had our wetsuits on, our wellies and our hats! We were rather wet when we got home, but we loved it! Splashing in the puddles is so good for building our core strength & leg strength - all whilst having lots of fun!
Love the fact that my little ones have fully embraced the Sugar Swap concept! They understand how sugar adversely affects their bodies & can discuss it. Nearly all of them have swapped sugar laden yoghurts for yoghurts and fruit pieces - they love choosing which fruit to pop in their yoghurt each day!
We had great fun recently drawing portraits of how we think we look - it was lovely to see the difference between the thinking of the younger children and the older children.
Its the start of our traditional annual Pumpkin dig out, where we clear out the seeds & insides of our pumpkins with our fingers and various utensils! Excellent for sensory play and for experimenting with textures. Its also great for using our fingers and enhancing our small motor skills! We just love this activity! They look so scary when they are lit up!
We were so lucky yesterday as the weather was milder, so we could do another outside Yoga session! We loved it and our concentration and listening skills were exemplary! We do everything we were told to do & had great fun doing it!
Love these words from one of my parents! "How amazing my childminder is! Absolutely amazing & so flexible. What a lady. I struck gold with her!"
So proud of my little ones who stood in total silence for Armistice Day, from 19mths through to 3 years old; they seemed to understand the importance of the silence - very proud; showing respect at such a young age.
Lots of fun drawing our firework pictures and talking about the colours of the fireworks. We knew the fireworks were orange, yellow and red and they went bang!
Every Monday/Friday and Wednesdays, we will be taking 10mins out of our day specifically to read - not for our normal Circle Time - but just to sit with a book - turning pages, touching the books, and talking about the pictures. Great fun! .
