MY BLOG

Descriptive Words!

Textures & Tickly Leaves!

Insects eating leaves!

We enjoyed a lovely Circle Time recently talking about our favourite tree - using lots of descriptive words and talking about how trees grow and how the branches grow and then fall away, and the cycle starts all over again!

Lots of discussions about which insects have been eating these leaves!  Learning about how nature works on one of our nature walks!

Lots of fun learning about textures and about which leaves are shiny, sharp or tickly!

Friday Buggy Walk!

Great Childminders!

Oh we had a lovely, early doors, Friday buggy walk last week!  We went along the canal to The Crammer to see the ducks, and then we headed back along the canal where we saw lots of boats, more ducks and lots of dogs out for their walks!

We also talked about the different colour leaves we could see and the different textures of the leaves and the grasses we touched on the way.

The highlight was seeing an orange tractor complete with toys on the front!

A great way to talk about colours, shapes, sizes and textures, and reiterating the "over" and "under" prepositions.   Lots of great observations and chat as well!

A perfect start to a Friday after another busy week of learning!

Our Heron!

Great Childminders!

We love this picture of our Heron who flew away from us as we were boat spotting on our canal!

Love this!  A Great Childminder is hard to find, difficult to part with and impossible to forget!!

Walking in the Mud!

Another muddy & icy walk to out bridge  - we love having our own bridge!!     Lots of fun running and walking through the mud and the puddles that were icy!   Lots of fun enjoying being out in nature!

Nature Treasure Hunts!

Here are just a few of the wonderful treasures that we have collected on our many Nature Treasure Hunts!

Childminding is so rewarding!

Childminding is so rewarding!

This is so true!  We may have difficult days but its all part of learning and growing and seeing the progress all my little ones make, makes childminding so rewarding!

Zoolab Visits

Childminding is so rewarding!

So excited, we have booked 2 visits from the Zoolab Rangers and their animals! Looking forward to seeing and touching the snakes, rats, spiders and frogs!!  We have missed them since Covid started!

Self Portraits!

We had great fun recently drawing portraits of how we think we look - it was lovely to see the difference between the thinking of the younger children and the older children.

Childminding is good for children!

This is so very true - we have seen our little ones make so much progress being with the older children.  It helps their social skills and their speech and understanding - its a brilliant way to progress!

Yoga Time

Appreciation!

Appreciation!

We were so lucky yesterday as the weather was milder, so we could do another outside Yoga session!  We loved it and our concentration and listening skills were exemplary! We do everything we were told to do & had great fun doing it!

Appreciation!

Appreciation!

Love these words from one of my parents! "How amazing my childminder is! Absolutely amazing & so flexible. What a lady. I struck gold with her!"

Armistice Day

Appreciation!

So proud of my little ones who stood in total silence for Armistice Day, from 19mths through to 3 years old; they seemed to understand the importance of the silence - very proud; showing respect at such a young age.

Firework Pictures

Lots of fun drawing our firework pictures and talking about the colours of the fireworks.  We knew the fireworks were orange, yellow and red and they went bang!

Reading & Quiet Time

Reading & Quiet Time

Every Monday/Friday and Wednesdays, we will be taking 10mins out of our day specifically to read - not for our normal Circle Time - but just to sit with a book - turning pages, touching the books, and talking about the pictures.  Great fun! .
