Forest Childminding
We are very proud to say that we are part of the Forest Childminding Association, which means we will always do our best to be outside when we can and to provide opportunities for our little ones to enjoy being outside!
Keep checking back regularly for pictures & stories about what we have been getting up to outside!
OUR BRIDGE!
We are very lucky to live so close to the canal & we have our own bridge which we love to walk to and to play on! We love to run through the wildflower meadow on the way to the bridge - its our favourite place & our "go to" place to run, walk, visit and observe!
DANCING IN THE DANDELIONS
We also love to spend time dancing in the dandelions; making them blow away, and seeing if we can jump over them. It's even more special when we find a bug sitting on top of one of the dandelions!
WINTER WALKS
We have had lots of fun over recent days going for walks in the very early morning sunshine, with ice and frost still on the ground.
We have loved to walk on the frosty grass, and to stamp on the icy puddles. We have also loved to put pieces of ice together to make jigsaws, whilst appreciating how sharp ice pieces can be.
We have also loved to see our breath showing in the air when we breath in and out; we said we were like dragons!
RAINY WALKS
We loved the Winter as we had the frosts to look at and investigate, but we also had lots of rain puddles to play in and stamp in!
We loved to splash in the puddles and also to see how deep the puddles were - sometimes the puddles were deeper than our wellies so the water went inside our wellies - what fun!
Lots of fun looking at all the insects that like to come out in the wet weather, we saw snails and lots of worms. We love to stop on our walks and look at the worms slithering across the paths.
CANAL WALKS
We love living so close to the canal and we have our own favourite bridge that we like to walk to! Its called our bridge and we love to go there all the time!
We love to watch the cows or horses in the field next to the bridge, and we love to walk over and under the bridge, and say Hello to the boats that go under our bridge.
TUNNEL OF TREES
We also have our own Tunnel of Trees on the canal path, which looks lovely whatever the season is! It has a very funny tree in it which has its roots coming into the canal path itself, making lots of bumps and cracks for us to investigate!
We love to play on the grass near to the path, and we can play Hide and Seek and Chase and have lots of fun!
NATURE
We love enjoying nature, and looking at nature on all our walks. We especially love to pick flowers and to talk about the flowers when we see them.
We love to pick dandelions and to blow them into the air, and we love to make collections of all things nature; flowers and stones and sticks .
